Standards for tenants groups

Tenants have agreed standards with Leeds City Council to allow tenants groups to easily to show that they are democratic and accountable.

Tenants groups who meet these standards are registered through the Tenants Federation and have the right to be recognised by the Council and its partners and have a formal role in decision-making.

Groups who meet these standards are called Registered Tenants Groups. The Council and its Arms Length Management Organisations support them and enable them to take part in formal decision-making. They are members of the independent federation of tenants and residents – Leeds Tenants Federation – and receive support grants, practical services and other support.
